4. Cybex Aton
Cybex is known for making seats that are of high-quality and come with easy-to-use features. This seat is no exception. It is one of our favorite infant car seats. This is due to its design and the fact that it can be used with most Cybex strollers as well as some from other manufacturers as well for an entire Travel System. It also comes with excellent safety features.
In our Infant Car Seats tests, the Cybex Aton scores above average in both rear-facing and forward-facing installation and ease of use. It comes with an adjustable headrest that can be adjusted to 11 different height positions and a no-rethread strap to make it easier to keep the straps in place as your child grows. Cybex seats also feature a load leg on the base to reduce the risk of a crash causing rotation and anti-rebound protection to keep your child in the middle of the seat.
The Aton is iSize-approved since birth and can be used with Cybex Base M for an added layer of security. It also has an innovative side-impact protection that redirects and absorbs forces from collisions. The Aton's short shell may not be suitable for compact cars as other models. The canopy isn't as large, and it's missing a peekaboo window.
Another issue is the price tag. It's a costly seat particularly when you consider how much better it performs than most others in our tests. Fortunately, there are several other great options on the market at lower costs.
